Your perfect guide for a manicure and pedicure session at home

Your perfect guide for a manicure and pedicure session at home

Skincare is a vital component of any beauty regimen. We had to rely on salons and parlors to get our hands and feet clean and nourished. However, because of the Pandemic,  salons were closed, or however, due to the pandemic, we preferred to stay indoors. Does this mean that we should let our skin get worse and remain unhealthy?

No!

Continue reading this article to get a step-by-step guide on how to get a manicure and pedicure at home!

Step 1: Trim and shape your nails

To begin with, you must shape and trim your nails and remove your old nail polish. Be careful to cut straight across and not too close to the corners, since this might result in painful ingrown nails. To give them the desired form, use a nail file.

Step 2: Soak your feet and hands

Soak your hands, feet in a tub of warm water. But first, make a salon-like atmosphere in your house. Light some gently scented candles and play some mild music. Fill your tub halfway and add some bath salt to it. If you don't have bath salts, just soak them without bath salt for a few minutes.

Step 3: Scrub

The purpose of the soaking is to soften the skin on your feet, making it easier and less painful to scrub away any dead skin that has gathered on your feet and heels. So, once you've removed your feet from the tub, gently yet completely pat them dry. Next, use that foot file or pumice stone and gently massage it over your feet and any other hardened areas to slough away all the dead skin. When cleaning your feet, bear in mind that you only need to scrub until the dead skin is removed.

Step 4: Exfoliate your Hands

Exfoliate your hands, forearms, and wrists with a scrub that removes dead skin cells while also replenishing moisture. Carefully remove the debris from under your nails. Then, mindfully wash your hands and pat them dry.

If you do not have much time to exfoliate, you can try LuxaDerme’s Hand Hydration Gloves. These gloves are enriched with clinically proven ingredients like Pentavitin, and botanicals like Allantoin, Shea Butter that will give your dull hands a rejuvenating boost in just 30 minutes.

Now that your hands and feet are clean and calm, it's time to revitalize them with intensive moisturizing treatment. Get a strong moisturizer and massage it in a circular motion over your hands, feet, ankles, and calf muscles for 15 to 20 minutes. If you don't have a moisturizer, you can use natural items such as a mixture of almond oil and olive oil as a substitute.

Are you aware of a 90-minute home pedicure treatment? If not, Check out LuxaDerme’s Peeling and Exfoliating Foot Mask which is formulated with a rich blend of 30+ botanical extracts with antibacterial properties that will peel off the dead skin and protect your newly sensitive skin.
